2. Paradiso Rooftop Restaurant & Bar

Paradiso is one of the newer restaurants on the scene in Airlie Beach and boy did they set the tone with their tapas-style & euro cuisine, creative cocktail menu and possibly the best rooftop view in town. A calm and relaxing dining experience downstairs contrasts perfectly with the upbeat, social and live music cocktail bar upstairs. Did we mention the desserts? Wow.

3. Mika Airlie

If big flavours, dramatic dishes and a happy social environment is up your alley, then turn left and head up the brightly coloured stairs to Mika Airlie for a good sit down of Latin-Australian food. Sizzling hot plates, rump caps, seafood, share platters and summery cocktails fuze together creating a dining experience that’ll remind you your holiday is going just fine. They hold a stunning rooftop view of the ocean which is complemented just right with genuinely great service. Great for groups or for those who want to have some fun.

4. The Rocks Restaurant Bar & Pool Club

Situated on the oceanfront at the luxurious Coral Sea Resort, The Rocks boasts nothing but class with its french riveria feel pool club atmosphere, lavish cocktails and a panoramic ocean view to die for. Recently renovated and reinvigorated, this chic Airlie Beach restaurant holds regular events and live music by the pool. From young to less young there is something for everyone whether it be a quiet romantic breakfast or a weekend afternoon with friends, floating around the refreshing azure pool listening to tunes.

5. 20 Degrees South – Whitsunday Sailing Club

The long standing Whitsunday Sailing Club recently gave itself a birthday and in the process produced one of the regions most spectacular new restaurants out there. The traditional seaside restaurant, pub and club house has incorporated a 21st century menu taking classic dishes and giving them a twist. A creative menu that focuses on quality over quantity includes dishes such as Forest Mushroom Cigars, Vietnamese Noodle Salad & Sriracha Calamari. What would be a seaside restaurant without a hero dish? Their Seafood Tower is spot on. Great for groups or families or just as good for having a quiet one lounging in the sea breeze.

6. KC’s Bar & Grill

The original Airlie Beach Steakhouse and a definite contender for best live music in The Whitsundays. If a good old fashion steakhouse feed and atmosphere is what you’re after then look no further than KC’s Bar & Grill. Delicious steaks, Australian game, live music every night and a sing-a-long vibe that’d get the even the quietest souls humming a tune. Mix that with engaged staff who love what they do, you’ve got a great night on your hands.

7. Beagles Pizza

The family classic, party favourite Beagles Pizza is the go to spot for pizzas on the go. Award-winning and for a very good reason, the pizzas are non stop delicious with toppings to suit everyone in the team. Enjoy out the front and watch the world whizz by or head down to the foreshore and watch the sunset, either way you’re onto a winner. Incredible value for what you get and a box you should tick on any true Airlie Beach holiday.

8. Anchor Bar

A staple of the local Whitsunday community, Anchor Bar is home to one of the greatest elevated seaviews in town and a swimming pool and spa to really top it off. The menu is lavish and doesn’t hold back one bit with items including Fish Taco’s, Pork Belly Burgers, Arancini that’ll make you cheer and a can’t decide platter that needs to be seen to be believed (clue: it’s just up there!) If playing pool, and lounging in the sun is your cup of tea then up the hill to the place to be.

The champion of dine in asian fusion in The Whitsundays is undoubtedly the humble yet incredible venue that is Cool La La. Combining the very best of Taiwanese, Chinese, Korean and other Asian cuisines, Cool La La absolutely nails it. Saucy, savoury, steamy, spicy, salty and sweet, all the flavours arrive at the table no matter the dish. From sticky sweet and sour tofu to the crunchiest calamari known to man, it’s all amazing so don’t be shy when ordering. Did we mention they deliver?

If a dedicated cocktail bar that is even more dedicated to the perfection of the art then simply put, you need to experience Breeze Bar. A far cry from the standard cocktail menu and recipes, the Barman at Breeze Bar is a master of his craft and will not disappoint. The team in the kitchen back him up perfectly with their classic and elegant tapas and the ladies on the floor bring the whole experience together flawlessly. Be sure to drop in.

The Airlie Beach industry leaders in Hot Rock Dining is, of course, The Village Cafe Restuarant & Bar. A romanticly lit & moody setting sits perfectly with engaging and exciting dishes that come out sizzling with anticipation. Whether it be seafood, Mexican fajitas or the perfect 200gram eye fillet steak it’s the ultimate place to take that special someone and experience hands on dining. If the Hot Rock isn’t up your alley, there’s an extensive menu to browse through and enjoy anyhow. They also do breakfast!

12. Poco Cucina

If a decadent, no holds barred meal from street food heaven is in your crosshairs this lifetime then be sure to designate a night to get your hands on a Poco Cucina feed. A local secret, the team of two is open for only two hours each 3 or 4 times a week and often sell out before that two hours is up. Home Made Double Cheese Burgers, Katsu Curry Chicken Tacos, Cinnamon Sugar Churros, the list goes on. A tried and true stand out in the line up, Fish D’vine brings the absolute best local seafood to the table. Whether its freshly caught local mud crabs or a crispy skin whole cooked coral trout, it’s a seafood lovers paradise. Being in the game for nearly 20 years they know what they’re doing. A brand new restaurant on the main street means ocean views are abundant and make for a seaside dining masterpiece. Combine that with their in house ‘Rum Bar’ and you’re getting a glimpse what’s possible on a night out here.

14. The Garden Bar Bistro

If a sun slowly setting casting its warm glow over a fleet of luxury yachts then we might have found the spot for you. Located down on the water at Coral Sea Marina, The Garden Bar & Bistro is a one of a kind Airlie Beach Restaurant. Nice and social but not crowded, it’s a magical little spot that totally immerses you in Australia’s sailing paradise. With fairy lights in abundance and table service second to none, it’s worth heading down and sharing some tapas with your favourite people.

Known for their seafood and outdoor, on the beach dining its a North Queensland experience that you will remember forever.

The Indulgence Shangri La. Baby Back Ribs, 400 gram bone-in Rib Eye, Prime Ribs with toppings and everything else in between. Great for families and groups who want a dining experience that holds nothing back. A great range of salads, burgers and seafood complement the signature beef dishes and the cocktails go nicely sitting out on the seaside balcony too. Tasty, fast, down to earth asian cuisine. Consistency is the name of Noodle and Rice’s game and they bring the best asian takeaway to the table 100% of the time, everytime! A large menu that can be adapted easily to your dietary needs even the fussiest eaters will find something to savour here. We love it for a quiet night in and always go for the dim sims as an add on. Located just off the main drag.

One of the definitive Restaurants in the region, ‘Sorrentos’ as it’s colloquially known holds the trophy for probably the best spot to watch the sunset in Airlie Beach. Located at the North End of Coral Sea Marina, this traditional Italian restaurant is perfect for all groups, all occasions and is the closest spot after getting off your boat trip you’ll find has a cold beverage waiting for you. Classic Italian pizza and pasta medley just magically with local live musicians and a good social atmosphere looking out over the Whitsunday Islands. Often busy later in the restaurant so book ahead.

One for the young at heart, Boaty’s is great for the social crowd. A tasty and affordable menu is on offer every night as well as their regular weekly specials including nights dedicated to ribs, chicken wings, chicken parmigiana and steak. Sing-a-long live music is in abundance and large open outdoor dining is great for those groups that like to talk a little louder. If keeping an eye on your wallet is of priority this Airlie Beach holiday then this is our pick for you. Great for backpackers or for those who love being social.

Hands down the best Thai in town. Period. A 10-minute walk or 30 second drive from the main street, Thai spicy focuses its attention on traditional Thai cuisine and cooking techniques covering everything from your classic Thai Green Curry to Pad Thai and more. If a tranquil and quiet dining experience with a seaview isn’t on the cards for the evening you can always get it takeaway, or even better, delivered. See their page for delivery prices.

21. Lovely India

There is nothing quite dipping a fresh and crusty garlic nann into your favourite hot & rich curry. Lovely India is the only Airlie Beach Restaurant dedicate to purely Indian cuisine. Warm fairy lights welcome you into their rooftop restaurant where you are met with calm and relaxing service. An extensive menu covers all of the many styles of Indian cuisine and is very well suited to the vegan and vegetarian community. Ideal for a low key romantic dinner and perfect for groups of small to medium size. Delivery options available.

22. Jubilee Tavern

The local tradition of heading to the Jubilee Tavern and getting a pub feed is not one that came about for no reason. Spacious dining, ice cold tap beer, and all the sports on wrap-around screens makes a meal here with the family or your friends spot on. Their large, trustworthy menu suits all taste buds and does the simple things right with classics like Bangers & Mash, Steak Sandwich and Pizzas from their in-house pizza oven. Their lunchtime specials are a solid midday feed for next to nothing and the staff remember your name. Great for a knockoff pint and a great solution to a large group that love options.

23. Banjo’s Bar & Bistro

The King of the Chicken Parmigiana, Banjos Bar & Bistro is the Cannonvale local for all. Their Parmi’s come with an extensive choice of themed toppings which on Monday & Tuesdays are only $20. Being a Bistro, the food is down to earth and warming and the beer pours easily. One of the largest menus in The Whitsundays also boasts a delicious pizza range. Their relaxed outdoor-indoor dining is great for lazy summer nights, even better if you have a four-legged friend.

24. Sushi Hi

Sushi Hi is a local Whitsunday gem that’s just off the main street and produces all things Japanese. Beautiful sushi and nigiri, ramen and miso is available all day, but for us, their hero dishes are their lunch specials. The Poke Bowls are as fresh as it gets with crispy salad ingredients, pickled goods, perfect rice and your choice of either chicken, seafood or vegan to top. They also produce their own homemade fruit teas which go down a dream. You won’t help but notice the friendliness and genuine characters of the owners that’s if you can’t take your eyes off the unbelievable salt water reef tank they have as the centrepiece in their restaurant. Our pick of the Japanese joints, pop in and say hi.

25. La Marina

Tucked up in the cosy corner of The Port of Airlie complex is the Italian proud and locally loved La Marina Restaurant. With a calm Marina view and low warm lighting, it’s a beautiful spot to spend the evening. Hand made pasta and pizza flow out of the kitchen with the smells that follow and fill the room with an aroma of authenticity that is second to none. The cocktails are delicate and their chock-a-block cold cabinet of house-made gelato is THE BEST in town. If lunch or dinner isn’t quite what you’re after, promise us you’ll pop in for a cone of takeaway gelato. We swear by it.
